Chawan Artigas

A complex and deep piece. With textures and effects of a long an extreme temperatures’ wood-firing.

I decided to make this piece after visiting a beautiful exhibition with pieces of the master Llorens Artigas. There was a magnificent bowl, one of the first ones he wood-fired. And I fell in love with it.

I couldn’t afford such a piece, but it kept coming back to my mind.

Then, I decided to make a piece to honor that particular Artigas’ bowl. And here it is.

It has not much to do with the original one, but the spirit is there. And, at least, it has stop haunting me.
