Nuka bowl

This bowl shows a repetitive pattern surface formed by ash paths that have melted during the firing on top of the nuka glaze. This is a traditional Japanese glaze, made of rice husk ash. In the center of the piece there’s a small deposit of emerald-colored ash, which gives it contrast and luminosity.

Signature visible on the foot, where there is also another recognizable mark of extreme firing: there where the piece was standing, a fragment of the foot was teared off, remaining attached to the pad, exposing the original color of the clay.
